Privacy Policy

Who operates NOCAP

NOCAP is built and operated by Anomaly X Innovations ("we," "us," "our"). This policy explains what information we collect through the NOCAP app and website, how we use it, and the choices you have.

What NOCAP does

NOCAP analyzes audio, images, video, and screenshots you choose to scan, and returns signals — not proof — about possible manipulation or synthetic content. See our Terms for the full disclaimer on how to interpret results.

Account data

If you create an account, we collect:

• Email address and password (password is stored using standard hashing, not in plain text).
• Basic account metadata: account tier (free / NOCAP+ trial), signup date, and scan quota usage.

You can use core scanning features anonymously without creating an account, subject to a lower daily scan quota tied to your device.

Scan / media data handling

When you submit audio, a photo, a video, or a screenshot for scanning:

• The file is sent securely to our backend for analysis and is processed in memory or in a temporary file that is deleted immediately after analysis completes.
• We do not permanently store the raw audio, photo, or video file you scanned.
• We do store the result of the scan (verdict, confidence, and the individual signals detected) linked to your account or anonymous device ID, so you can view your scan history.
• If you use the "Share result" feature, the shared result card/link may be accessible to anyone you send it to.

Feedback data

If you rate or comment on a scan result (e.g. "helpful" / "not helpful," or a correction), we store that feedback along with the associated scan result so we can improve NOCAP's signal quality over time.

Device and quota data

To enforce fair-use scan limits for anonymous users, we associate a device identifier with your daily scan count. This identifier is not used to build an advertising profile of you.

Ads and rewarded ads

NOCAP may show a rewarded ad (via Google AdMob) as an option to earn an extra scan when you reach your daily limit. Ad delivery is handled by Google's Mobile Ads SDK, which may collect data as described in Google's Privacy Policy. During alpha testing, ad units are configured in test mode.

Payments and subscriptions

NOCAP+ subscriptions, when purchased through the App Store or Google Play, are billed and processed entirely by Apple or Google. We do not receive or store your payment card details. We receive confirmation that a purchase or trial was completed so we can activate your NOCAP+ access.

Logs and diagnostics

Our backend keeps standard operational logs (timestamps, request status, error messages) to keep the service running and to debug issues. We do not log the contents of the files you scan or the text extracted from screenshots.

Data sharing / third-party service providers

We share limited data with the following categories of service providers, only as needed to run NOCAP:

• Cloud hosting / infrastructure providers (to run the backend and store account + scan-result data).
• Google AdMob (rewarded ads).
• Apple / Google (App Store and Play Store purchase processing).

We do not sell your personal data.

Your choices

• You can use most NOCAP features without an account.
• You can request deletion of your account and associated scan history by contacting us (see below).
• You can decline rewarded ads at any time — they are optional.

Children's privacy

NOCAP is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect data from them.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as NOCAP moves out of alpha. Material changes will be reflected with a new effective date above.
